Mrs. Pappas continued and expanded her love for music at the University of Kansas. While at KU she studied voice with Kristin Johnston, Nancy Ruehle, and Sharon Campbell O'Connell. She had the great pleasure to sing and perform in choral ensembles such as University Singers, Women's Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir, as well as study under Dr. John Paul Johnson, and Dr. Paul Tucker. During her time at KU, Mrs. Pappas also was very active with the athletic bands: Women's and Men's Basketball Bands, and the Marching Jayhawks. As a member of these musical groups she traveled to Wichita (KS), Manhattan (KS), Hutchinson (KS), Oklahoma City, Stillwater (OK), Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Orlando, and parts of Europe including London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Venice, Vienna, Prague, and Salzburg. Mrs. Pappas was also blessed with the opportunity to sing the National Anthem and KU Alma Mater at various Women's and Men's Basketball games, and one NBA exhibition game, Bulls vs. Supersonics.
